Michigan is in the process of passing a two person crew bill to make it a state law.

SB 767 is the Senate bill for two person crews and HB 5596 is the House bill for two person crews. The Senate bill was introduced by primary sponsor Sen. Erika Geiss (D.-Dist. 6). 

Rep. Tim Sneller (D-Dist. 50) introduced H.B. 5596, which was co-sponsored by House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Rep. Jack O’Malley (R-Dist. 101) and:

Michigan joins other states in fight for two person crews!

Michigan puts bill in to join 8 other states that have a two person crew state law. Don Roach, Michigan Legislative Director for SMART is leading the charge for the SMART-TD union to get SB 767 and HB 5596 passed into law.
